Karst Mountains in Guilin and Yangshuo

Sep-2025 Guilin and Yangshuo, Guangxi
This trip to Guilin and Yangshuo felt like walking through a landscape painting. I started in Guilin at Chuanshan Park, where the sunset softened the city and the karst hills into the same warm light. The view was quiet but distinctive: water, stone, bridges, and hills all layered together in a way that immediately felt different from other cities.
Yangshuo was the most vivid part of the journey. From Xianggong Mountain, the Li River curved between sharp green peaks under a wide sky, and the view opened so suddenly that it felt almost unreal. Later, the Ten-Mile Gallery gave the trip a slower rhythm, with roads, villages, and limestone mountains passing by like scenes from a scroll.
The Li River and Yulong River rafting were especially memorable. The water moved gently between cliffs and fields, and every turn revealed another angle of the mountains. Guilin was not only beautiful because of its famous scenery, but because the whole trip kept shifting between grand views and quiet, close moments on the river.
