    Apr-2026 Japan

This trip connected several very different impressions of Japan in one route: Tokyo’s dense city rhythm, Osaka’s lively commercial streets, Kyoto’s temples and university atmosphere, and the wide green space of Nara Park. The most memorable natural view was Mount Fuji. Seeing it clearly gave the trip a strong visual anchor, because the mountain felt both distant and very present, especially after moving through the much more crowded spaces of the city.

Tokyo left the strongest urban impression. Shinjuku and Shibuya were busy, bright, and layered, with people, trains, shops, and signs all moving at the same time. Chiyoda and the Imperial Palace area felt completely different: calmer, more formal, and more spacious, with water, stone walls, and trees giving the city a more historical texture. Osaka was more direct and energetic. Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori were full of lights, food, crowds, and movement, making the city feel warmer and more casual.

Kyoto changed the mood again. Kiyomizu-dera was the main visual memory, with the temple buildings, green trees, and hillside views forming a very classic scene. Visiting Kyoto University also added another layer to the trip, turning Kyoto from only a historic destination into a place with a living academic atmosphere. Nara Park was quieter and unexpectedly open; the continuous green space made the city feel almost pastoral. Together, these places made the trip feel balanced between nature, city, history, and everyday life.
