Volcanic lake in Northeast China

Two delightful days of travel allowed us to fully appreciate the beauty of Heihe. We climbed to the volcano’s crater, where mountain breezes rustled through the forests; we sailed on the barrier lake, watching waves crash against the shore. Along the way, we chanced upon a gentleman from Guangxi, a fellow traveler, who extended such warm hospitality that it evoked the grace of an ancient gentleman.
